439707 - All received & sent emails after 2/7/08 and before 6/14 missing

Inbox and Sent are suddenly (today) missing all emails received or sent after 2/7/08 and before 6/14/08.  I ran an AVG anti-virus full scan when I discovered this, AVG thinks all is well.

I don't know if this is a Thunderbird bug or a PC Windows XP bug.  But I'd like any ideas you can forward to me about what might have caused this problem.  And I'd really like to get those missing emails back - lots of stuff I need to save in those.
