User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 just by typing this message caused a load percentage of around 15%, normal usage on forums and non-media intencive sites cause up to 40% load and youtube sites up to 100% granted firefox 2.0 did experience similar load problems but from what lm currently experiencing its pretty much constant from the moment l upgraded to 3.0 l admit my system isnt cutting edge but it should handle things easy with 2GB ram and an AMD X2 4600+. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. load firefox 2. browse some sites 3. maybe even visit youtube Actual Results: between 15% when typing and 100% CPU usage when browsing or viewing content for long periods of time by just haveing the windows open Expected Results: lm not expecting to see usage go down as such, l know with all these new applications and services out there today that computers need to be upgraded all the time to cope with system intensive applications, personally ld like to see a reduction in needed resources, although lm not so bothered about memory ld like to see processor usage plummet to around what it was when l used firefox 2.0 or maybe even become more resource friendly! pretty much specified it all within my earlier explanations.

This appears to me as a major/critical bug. I have similar problems browsing common Italian newspapers site (http://www.repubblica.it) maybe this is due to Adobe Flash Player contents. Just start the browser, open home page, open one or two articles in tabs mode and get 100-80% used CPU in a short time. It compromises machine performance, I have tried to minimize Firefox too but no way. Windows XP SP2, Adobe Flash Player version 9,0,28,0. Maxthon instead works fine with the same pages. I can provide more information if it needs.
although l agree with the above, for me its pretty much general usage consumes way more processing power than it should.

In general, FF runs about 80-99% (and mostly around 90-99%) of CPU usage on my computer. The only two reasons it drops below 80% (FF runs about 80-20%) is when System Idle Process is running high, or when in browsing FF freezes or lags (FF runs about 20-02%). The CPU usage causes me to have to close FF to do anything else on my computer. Switching between FF and AIM causes both programs to freeze. Just trying to type an IM freezes. I've never had this much of a problem with FF before using numerous tabs open and loaded.
3.0.1 fix the problem?
3.0.3 the problem is returned. 99% CPU busy often and for nothing.
do you see this also in version 3.6?
