(I know we have the breadcrumb, but we should probably do this in addition, to be consistent with how Mozilla.com functions.)

On the right-hand side of the page--in the navigation area--when you're on a top-level URL/page, we should style that white.

So, as an example:

1. Click on https://sumo-reskin.authstage.mozilla.com/tiki-wiki_rankings.php?limit=500&categId=1, which is the Knowledge Base
2. "Knowledge Base" should then be styled white, and "Firefox Support" should remain in a larger font, but without any color styling.

Went through each template and set this.

I think the way this currently works is non-intuitive:

[1] The right-hand "Knowledge Base" link (http://support-stage.mozilla.org/kb/) doesn't get styled white.
[2] "Support Forum" (http://support-stage.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Support+Website+Forums) doesn't either.

As another example, if you're on "Other Firefox Support" (http://support-stage.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Other+Firefox+support), "Knowledge Base" gets highlighted -- which seems technically correct, perhaps, because the former is a subset of the latter, if the breadcrumb can be trusted:

Firefox Support / Knowledge Base / Other Firefox support

On Mozilla.com, (see http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/firefox/, for example), we have what I feel is a more intuitive system, where top-level pages/categories are listed in the nav with a / separator.

This can probably wait till post-launch, however? Let me know if this bug should be split up into smaller pieces, too...

Support Forum could easily be changed to appear in white, as it's a separate template.

The "Other Firefox support" and "Ask a question" articles could too, if we created a separate template for those particular articles (the only difference being that this nav item would be white).

Not required for launch though.

We have too many templates with just small changes already...this is not what the templating system is meant for. I'll investigate putting in checks so that individual pages have the right white text, but for now I followed the PSDs...home pages (such as forum home and the global homepage) are not styled white, while their children are.

We do need a better system though, this is incredibly non-intuitive.

djst or anyone else interested: can I get a list of what pages should have what whited beyond the current setup? I'll put in the functionality if I can, but I want an official list of what to highlight for what page, as opposed to a lot of bugs every time something needs to be changed.

Sorry, missed this bugmail. I'm not sure what you mean with what other pages. From my point of view, the pages that should become white in the top-right nav is the pages linked to from that menu:

# Support Forum
# Ask a Question
# Other Firefox Support
# How to Contribute

(Excluding "Knowledge Base" because it's actually just pointing to the start page; and "Log in" because it's more of an action)

Reopening; "Support Forum" (http://support-stage.mozilla.org/forum, which redirects to http://support-stage.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Support+Website+Forums), doesn't get styled white--the others, below it, are fine.
