Details

I hadn't really played around with add-ons before, but with Fx 3 out I figured I'd go check a few things out. I installed Flashblock, no problem. Yay add-ons!

Over at Ars Technica there was an article about the PDF Plugin for Mac extension, and while they point to code.google.com I figured I could also find it through the Add-Ons tool. I did indeed find it, but the "Add to Firefox" button was greyed out with a "Log in to install this add-on" below it.

I found myself wondering why I had to register and log in. I clicked the "Log in" link and found no helpful hints there, nor on the "Register" page, nor behind any of the other links on the search results page the Add-Ons tool directed me to.

Shaver explained the why to me on IRC, and I just now noticed the "experimental" in the upper left corner.

Well, I guess I should pay more attention, but I think putting the "experimental" closer to the "Add to Firefox" button would make it quite hard to miss, and ideally clicking it would take you to an explanation page, or the registration page would have a little blurb about why you'd want to register.
