When all windows are closed or minimized, the menu items added by Plugins such as Stealther and Update Scanner (in the Tools menu) suddenly vanish.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
Menu items should not disappear because the associated functionalities take effect globally.

I've confirmed this.

It doesn't happen in FF2 (so it's a regression).

It doesn't happen on Windows or Linux -- but it _can't_ happen there,
because on those OSs the application menu is attached to each window,
not (as on OS X) to the Finder.

It's quite likely this isn't a Cocoa widgets bug. But I'm putting it
there until we find out otherwise.

Stealther and Update Scanner are extensions, not plugins.
Summary: Plugin menu items missing when windows closed/minimized → Extension menu items missing when all windows closed/minimized
Not wanted for 1.9.0.x, but we should probably pick this up in 1.9.1 since it affects extensions.

I doubt this is our bug - the extensions most likely need to add their menu items to the hidden window menu.

Steven, can you confirm whether this is our bug or not?

The short answer is "I don't know".

Before I can know for sure, I'd need to check out Josh's suggestion
(about adding menu items to the hidden window menu). This would
likely take a while (possibly several days), since I don't currently
know anything about how extensions are supposed to add menu items.

I'll get to this eventually (I've got other bugs with higher
priority). But I certainly wouldn't mind if someone else beats me to
it :-)
This bug still happens. It's not very important -- at worst mildly annoying.

We should fix it, but I'm not sure when anyone will have time to get to it. I almost certainly won't.
