In the dom inspector Ver 2.0 none of the nodes will display in firefox 3. It does not list any of the node names.

First thing to try would be a new profile:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+Profiles
Hopefully it works correctly there. If it does, then it might be caused be another extension. Try disabling all but DOM inspector. If it works, then enable them one at a time until you find the culprit.
I finally got it working. I had to completely reinstall the software. I had uninstall the software first and also delete my profile. I think it was caused by a firefox 3 beta version.
