User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 After clicking on a website link Firefox will proceed to downloading the .html file via. the Download manager instead of opening the .html file in a new tab, or in the current tab. The problem is seemingly random, but does seem to occur more often when going through lists, such as different pages within Google search results and alike. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Since the bug appears to come up randomly, recreating is rather difficult. Actual Results: Download manager downloads the .html file. Expected Results: Firefox opens the .html file. This bug has occurred for me on two different machines on both Windows Vista & Windows XP.
This can happen if the website doesn't use the text/html MIME-type, but the application/octet-stream one, which is the default in some webservers. But then it's due to a misconfiguration of the webserver. Can you show an exmaple of such a website ?
wiki.androidlab.net (Links on the community portal section always pops up to download instead showing I show them in new tab by "Open link in new tab" function) sharebee.com rapidspread.com (When I upload files to these sites, always pops up to download when download completes)
