I followed all installation steps correctly, but no events appear in lightning. I have tried both the ical and xml addresses and uninstalling and re-installing. 
No error messages in console.

Yes, I don't see anything that will help. Any suggestions? 
Joanna, buzilla should not be used as a support forum. Please post to the support newsgroup with your problem. Also:

* Make sure you have calendar.debug.log enabled, restart, and take another look at your error console.
* Tell the newsgroup what version of thunderbird/lightning or sunbird you have, if you are using google apps
* Try a 0.5pre nightly (see newsgroup/faq)
