User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 FireFox 3 (I upgraded from 1.5) has alt-s set to open the History menu and I'm so used to hitting alt-s to submit posts on various forums (instead of scrolling down, which on a laptop involved quite a bit sometimes). Just a request to have a way to change that hotkey or something. I don't even need the darn menu (I have ctrl-h history sidebar anyway, and with the AwesomeBar I shouldn't need either). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Hit Alt-S on a page scripted to accept alt-s as a form of input Actual Results: History menu opens. Expected Results: Webpage takes input and 'submits' the form (typically a forum post, SMF is one forum software that I know uses this).
These forum software usually uses the HTML accesskey attribute to implement keyboard shortcuts and the sequence to activate these controls was changed from Alt + key to Alt + Shift + key, so try Alt + Shift + S instead.
That worked, although not as smooth a motion as before. Thanks though.
ok, closing bug Note that keycombinations with alt would conflict with the menubar (like alt-f that opens the file menu). That's why it was changed to alt-shift.
