After downloading a PDF file and choosing to view it, the system freezes up completewly once the PDF file is loaded in a tab.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download a PDF file
2. Choose to open file
3. System freezes when file is opened
Actual Results:
The system freezes. Even after waiting 30 minutes, the system is still frozen. Nothing works including "esc."

Expected Results:
T^he PDF should be open for viewing or for printing, and then could be closed.
does ctrl+alt+del work (taskmanager).
A complete system freeze is a system problem and can not be fixed in Firefox.
The system freeze is created by the download and then trying to open the PDF. The system works fine otherwise and have never experienced this type of freeze before. Furthermore, it may not be common, but application crashes can cause a system to freeze up and this is what is happening here. And, no I could not even access the Task Manager, as all functions, including keyboard and trackball are frozen.
Note: the file above is irrelevant to my comments, it's just there because your system requires a file to be there.

(Q1) Crash? Freeze? Both?
If crash, what is Crash Reporter ID?

> The system freezes. Even after waiting 30 minutes, the system is still frozen.
> Nothing works including "esc."

(Q2) What is the "system"? Whole of OS? Firefox only?
Where/when the "ESC" is pressed and it didn't work?
Only when window of Firefox is acitve?
Or even on other applicaion or desktop?

(Q3) Adobe Reader and Adobe Reaser's plugin? Or other PDF plugin?
If Adobe Reader, what version of Adobe Reader? (Check with Adobe Reader)
If Adobe Reader, what version of PDF plugin from where?
     - about:config : plugin.expose_full_path=true
     - about:plugins
     - about:config : plugin.expose_full_path=false (rest for safety)

(Q5) If Adobe Reader, which option is enabled at Adobe Reader?
> Edit/Preferences/Internet/Web Browser Options
> (A) Display PDF in Browser
> (B) Allow fast web view
> (C) Allow speculative downloading in the background

(Q5) If Adobe Reader, same questions as Bug 429242 Comment #6.

Sorry for the terminology confusion on my part.
The system "freezes" up. Nothing can be done, including using the "esc" button.
Although I do use Adobe Reader (version 8.1.2), I use PDF download in Firefox.
An application can not freeze the whole OS (not valid for Windows 95/98/ME), it can allocate near all memory and it can also use 100% but you should still get the task-manager if you wait long enough.
If the taskmanager doesn't come up then you have another problem at your systemand we can not fix this. It doesn't matter if you get this only with one versionb of Firedox and/or only with Firefox.
