User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10_4_11; en) AppleWebKit/525.13 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1 Safari/525.13 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008061004 Firefox/3.0 Loading of pages or images occasionally just stalls. Sites with lots of images seems to stall more often that plain sites. Additionally, while the browser is "stalled" going to another link is "stalled" as well regardless of whether other link is in the same windows or a new tab. While stalled I can switch over to Safari and load the pages in question almost instantly. Firefox 3 appears to recover after a few minutes. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Browser and visit site like normal. 2. ??? Actual Results: Loading of site(s) and images now stalled Expected Results: Load the sites and images. iBook G4 1 GHz PowerPC G4 640MB OS X 10.4.11
My nephew had the same issue on Windows XP: websites with images will crash Firefox 3. Fout: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80520008 (NS_ERROR_FILE_ALREADY_EXISTS) [nsILocalFile.copyTo]" nsresult: "0x80520008 (NS_ERROR_FILE_ALREADY_EXISTS)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://browser/content/places/places.js :: PO_backupBookmarks :: line 532" data: no]

I am not sure whether to start a new bug, but it's close enough to this one. I am on a Mac Pro Intel, 10.6.2, 10GB RAM. Firefox 3.5.5. I do not get images from CNN, nor from Google images <http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&source=hp&q=leryn+franco+photos&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=I6MdS_eEPIGulAeEu7nxCQ&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CBgQsAQwAA>, but I do see images at NYTimes.com. Images are specifically "allowed" in the preferences. I downloaded Apple's new "Java for OS X 10.6 Update 1" this morning (12/7/09), but no change. There have been several other sites whose images do show up in Camino, SeaMonkey, Safari, even in Explorer 5.2.3. But not in FF3. william.dorsey@comcast.net

Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.13 or later in safe mode? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing. http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles

(In reply to comment #2 and #3) I had simply decided to avoid using Firefox for this type of application. I just tried a Google image search in safe mode and then regular and in both ways the images loaded quickly and virtually at the same rate of speed. Now let me post this and come back to try to find out where/how I close the bug report. > I am not sure whether to start a new bug, but it's close enough to this one.
