User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14
Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.14 (20080421)
In Thunderbird on MacOS X when composing email, the Shift-Command-K shortcut is used by both "Remove Links" in the Format menu, and by "Check Spelling" in the Options menu. It is therefore impossible to Remove Links from the keyboard (Shift-Command-K checks spelling instead).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new email message for editing (Compose window)
2. Paste in text which has links.
3. Select All Text
4. Use shift-command-K to Remove Links
Actual Results:
The check spelling window opens; links in the text are not removed.
Expected Results:
links in the text are removed by shift-command-K, in the same way that using the menu item Remove Links does.
This is a minor problem that existed for a minimum of a year or two; I constantly encounter it and yet it has a simple fix.
My work very often involves pasting text from many emails and using "Remove All Text Styles" and "Remove Links", so I hereby request that it be fixed.
My preferred solution to fixing the problem would be to assign shift-command-U to Remove Links (because it is next to shift-command-Y use by Remove All Text Styles), or shift-command-L (Because L stands for Links).
