Currently new features only come with new major version releases which take a very long time.

It would be better if there were more frequent releases.

This would help Firefox's release version stay competitive in regards to standards support.

Sorry, this is not the right place to discuss such things, use for example the newsgroups for that. Big changes needs their time but they will try to make the release cycle shorter in the future.
