Browser window -> menu -> History -> show all history
selected line should stay on visible screen when sort order changes.

1. sort history by location
2. select any entry, not places on the top of screen with sort by date
3. sort by date
Actual Results:
see the the list position you see before, not selected record.
Expected Results:

Indeed it doesn't scroll to the selection when the view is changed. If you have a lot of history it is not doable to scroll manually to the selection, so I think this is more a bug than an enhancement request.

This would be nice, however I'd prioritize segregating that history view into date containers, to minimize the list size, over this fix. This will not block the 3.1 release.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".
In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.
Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
