User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008043010 Fedora/3.0-0.60.beta5.fc9 Firefox/3.0b5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b5) Gecko/2008043010 Fedora/3.0-1.fc9 Firefox/3.0-1 Lotus Notes Client 8 has Core dumps & Java Dumps when I upgrade from Firefox 3 Beta 5 to Firefox 3.0-1. The update (using YUM) also updates xulrunner. I think the app causing the Java dumps is Xulrunner. In 'dmesg', I get this error message when starting up Lotus Notes: notes2w[3411]: segfault at 0 ip 001a4fe5 sp bfe6dc60 error 6 in libj9prt23.so[195000+21000] If I rollback to the previous versions of Firefox and xulrunner, Lotus Notes work fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.update Firefox & Xulrunner to version 3.0-1 2.Start Lotus Notes (crash) 3.rollback to firefox & Xulrunner versions 3 Beta 5 Actual Results: Lotus Notes Crashes when opening Expected Results: Lotus Notes opens normally. I can give the Core & Java dump files if required.
did it not crash on beta 5? I'm a little confused.
Exactly. With the following RPMs Lotus Notes 8 for Linux does not crash. firefox-3.0-0.60.beta5.fc9.i386 xulrunner-1.9-0.60.beta5.fc9.i386 With theses RPMs Lotus Notes has Core dumps and Java Dumps firefox-3.0-1.fc9.i386 xulrummer-1.9-1.fc9.i386 I can not install firefox-3.0-1.fc9.i386 by itself as it does not start without xulrummer-1.9-1.fc9.i386.
I've exactly the same issue as Cristian. I was using the Lotus Notes 8.0.1 under Fedora 8 without any problem. But now with Fedora 9 ( Firefox 3.0.1 & Xulrunner 1.9.0.1) the client crashes at startup.
I'm having exactly the same problem. Just now, I can't confirm that the problem is with Firefox and xulrunner, but since I'm running a similar configuration (openSUSE11 // KDE 4.1 / Firefox 3.01). Will there be any progress in this matter?
Lotus crashing is not likely to be the result of a Firefox bug. Have you tried reporting a Lotus bug?
