User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 Everytime I try to open www.yahoo.co.uk firefox starts to open it displaying most of the page but then at about 80% it just freezes and stops responding? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.type www.yahoo.co.uk into address bar and hit enter 2.Page starts to open, then freezes 3.Right click icon on progress bar and choose close, then end now when not responding text comes up! Actual Results: Firefox shuts down Expected Results: The page should have opened fully, Ive never had a problem with older versions of firefox and yahoo seems to be the only page affected The first time this happened I had set yahoo as my homepage so everytime I tried to open firefox it tried to go to yahoo and jammed, the only cure was to reset all bookmarks to default, losing all of them in the progress!
I wonder, is this a manifestation of the Vundo trojan? Do other sites, for example facebook and google, freeze on load? See: http://wiki.castlecops.com/Vundo_Rootkit_Detection_and_Removal_Procedure In any event, the behaviour you're describing sounds more symptomatic of a malware infection.

No other sites freeze, only yahoo! Ive run spybot, adaware and spyeraser and the problem is still there! Vondofix also shows no infected files. However everytime the problem occurs the progress bar says waiting for eur.a1.yimg.com
