This might be WFM with latest beta but it'll be good to have double confirmation.
I still got the same problem. But I had tested it on other pc, and this problem didn't happen.
So I think this problem is specific for my WinXP. Maybe some other program or settings produce it.
I find the cause of my problem. If you enable "Query character radicals"(in Chinese: 查詢組字字根) feature of Chinese IME of WinXP, then this bug will occur. BTW, FireFox got the same problem, when I type Chinese character here.

Eric this issue is related to an extension?

Don't think so - I think Eric means refers to the feature of the Chinese IME (the way to input Chinese characters in XP) and not any extension.

Yes, Gary is right. This problem isn't caused by extension. I think if you want to solve the bug, try to figure out what WinXP do when it send a Chinese character to app from it's Chinese IME and the difference when "Query character radicals" feature is on and off.

duplicate of Bug 143390?
Arrow keys stuck when Chinese ChangJie and Japanese IME's are used
Summary: When typing chinese character, arrow key will be no function → When typing Chinese character, arrow key will be no function. "Query character radicals" IME feature is enabled

I don't think it's a duplicate of Bug 143390, which is caused by 相關字詞功能/Related Phrases (or "associative word" by Bug Reporter), rather than this bug, Query character radicals.
However, there's possibility that with the fix of Bug 143390 also fixed this bug, since I can't reproduce this bug, I'll say it WFM, too.
My test platform:
Windows XP SP3
Thunderbird 5
OS-Integrated ChangJie IME with Query character radicals set to Phonetics(BPMF) IME,
All of the programs above are in zh-TW locale.

If Eric can confirm, that will be great too.
