With the linux 2000062920 nightly build. Actual Results: Clicking on the select widget's arrow at http://www.mwaccess.net/~john/tc/tc21.html to open the pull down menu has a noticable delay before the widget is drawn. Expected Results: It should be faster.

tested with build 2000063008 on Redhat 6.2 PII 400 192 M ram widget takes about 1 second to draw after click, may be more noticible on slower PC.
takes about 2 sec on my PII 300, RH 6.2. Also changing severity to minor since it is working, just a bit slower than we would like to see.

Marking as Future, yes 1000 items is probably too slow, but is it really practical? This bug has been marked "future" because the original netscape engineer working on this is over-burdened. If you feel this is an error, that you or another known resource will be working on this bug,or if it blocks your work in some way -- please attach your concern to the bug for reconsideration.

I notice more delay than usual in selects with even just a few options.

clicking on <menulist> with 200 <menuitems> takes 3s to display popup tested on todays linux build, K6-2 350 128 MB RAM I think 200 items is not too much. Can someone point me where I can start finding the performance bottleneck?

I think this was a duplicate of 32920 which was fixed. I no longer have a problem with the testcase. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 32920 ***
