enable firefox to read html.gz locally

I can seem to view html.gz perfectly in a website. However when i try to download the file and view it on firefox locally, it's not possible.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. open http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/docs/HOWTO/translations/it/html_single/Fedora-Multimedia-Installation-HOWTO.html.gz
2. save page as
3. open the file saved
