I want to mention that this change does not make sense for everyone.

As a Paramedic, I work a 24/48 shift, so all seven days of the week are my workday, but there are times that I still need to schedule something for only weekdays, such as school related events.

If the behavior isn't going to change, I guess it isn't that big a problem (in other words, it still selects Monday through Friday) but will still be incorrect terminology for my usage.

What about just changing it to say "Mon-Fri" to make it clear what it means, then perhaps have another option for Every Workday that actually honors the workweek settings from the options menu?

Patches in bug 439315 rename this to "Workweek days".
"Workweek days" was chosen rather than "workday" to reduce expectations about skipping holidays (like Labor day this past Monday in US).  Holidays are not workdays, but they may fall on workweek days.
