Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.2pre) Gecko/2008070703 Thunderbird/3.0a2pre ID:2008070703 If you try to send a message to an OS X mailing list all the contained contacts will be added in separate To: fields. That's not a good idea due to privacy reasons. Instead everyone should be added as BCC. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a composition window 2. Enter the name of a test mailing list from your OS X address book 3. Send the message 4. Open the Sent folder and select your sent messages Now you can see that each contact was added to a To field. Adding privacy keyword to reflect that issue.

While I can imagine it being worthwhile to give users the option to use the Bcc field here, I'm not entirely convinced that it's the right default. What does Mail.app do, by default?
Mail.app does just what we do: if you "Send Email to" from Address Book, it's a To:, if you choose it from the equivalent of the contacts sidebar, it's whichever button you choose. And even if there *was* an expectation of a different default from familiarity with OS X Address Book + Mail.app, we really don't want to have one list automatically BCC, and another list To, just because of where they are stored. We *should* have a way to default to something other than To, either for all lists or per-list, but it shouldn't be specific to only OS X lists (particularly since they don't actually have any way of storing your per-list preference...).
