User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Here's an example of an add-on author copying reviews from outside AMO into AMO and making up the star ratings himself. Probably something that needs to be discouraged in the review guidelines. I suggest adding yet another line to the "don't" section of https://preview.addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/pages/review_guide Which was recently created as part of bug 433636 Suggested wording: "Copy text from reviews in other places, unless you were the one who wrote that review" or maybe: "Link to or copy text from reviews in other places, unless you were the one who wrote that review" And if that is the policy to be adopted, one should probably nuke the particular reviews in question before they set a bad example and everyone starts doing it. Reproducible: Didn't try It might be a good idea to prevent users from submitting more than one review (apart from developer replies of course). I'll file another bug for that (or find an existing one and vote for it). It might also be a good idea to allow add-on authors (and maybe others?) to link to or quote from off-site reviews in a more structured fashion. I'll file another bug for that too.
The "don't allow it" part is bug 379048.
I think there needs to be policy around *anyone* re-posting reviews from other sources, not just add-on authors, but it's definitely related. Will link back to here from bug 379048
Have amended the title so that it no longer just refers to add-on authors doing it.
Summary: Policy required as regards add-on authors copying outside reviews into AMO → Policy required as regards copying outside reviews into AMO
How about something general like this: Don't - Quote, reply, or link to other people's reviews. Use your own words. This phrasing also covers of the occasional annoyance of people arguing with other reviewers in their reviews. I think we need to discourage all forms of outside-reference within reviews; reviews should just be from the reviewer. With respect to the "don't allow it" issue, yes there's bug 379048, but why was this user allowed to make more than one review at all? (developer or otherwise)

Ever confirmed: true
Summary: Policy required as regards copying outside reviews into AMO → Policy required as regards copying/referencing other reviews within reviews
Seems that bit is covered by bug 435263. Duplicates were caught by the mods before, but now that it's set to auto-approve users can easily review an add-on multiple times.
Policy already says not to "post reviews for an add-on you wrote" -> wontfix
