http://www.jigzone.com/puzzles/2003-08-16 is still not working here with Java 1.6.0_07-b06.
Could be coincidental, but I always get a blocked pop-up message at Jigzone, but not with Firefox 2 or 3.
Jigzone.com has a traffic rank of: 5,071 so requesting blocking Firefox 3.1.
Flags: blocking1.9.1?
That's even not working on OS X. But in comparison to Windows XP the whole browser freezes on OS X when opening the given URL. There is no way to quit except killing the process. Having a look on Windows it loads forever and never quits but doesn't result in a hang.

All these issues started with todays nightly build on both platforms. So it's definitely a regression from bug 435334.

Looks like that doesn't only happen for the given URL. Each Java site shows the same behavior for me.

Sorry for the spam; I meant of course requesting blocking Firefox 1.9.1.

third time lucky: blocking 1.9.1 :(.

This WORKSFORME under both Linux and Windows with current trunk and Java SE 6 Update 10 (1.6.0_10-beta).
Ok, it works with the latest version of Java 1.6.0_10-beta but not with any currently released version of Java 6.
And the blocked pop-up message, is that also gone?
Well, clearing the blocking field, for it may be fixed with the latest Java Beta. I'll retest as soon the fix is in a Java release.

Because of bug 397080 only the latest 1.6.0_10_beta version will work. Bill, how should we proceed with that bug? Can we use it as the one you described as option 1 in bug 435334 comment 68?
Summary: Jigzone java puzzles still not working on trunk → Java applets (OJI/LiveConnect) don't work on trunk
I filed bug 444881 on the issue of Mozilla 1.9.1 still recognizing incompatible java plug-ins.
Actually, perhaps the summary on this bug should be changed to indicate that Mozilla 1.9.1 requires a beta version of Java. This could then be set to block 1.9.1 and resolved if and when a Java version that works with Mozilla 1.9.1 is released.

It would seem to me that not working with the latest release version of Java should block the release. This way if it comes time to release and the working version of Java is still in beta, this issue will not be forgotten.

At that point a decision could be made to either:

1. Hold the release

2. Release anyway

3. Build the release with OJI enabled.

Bill, you definitely pasted the wrong bug number here.

I updated the summary to better reflect our problem.

Indeed. Asking for blocking1.9.1.

Kenneth, is there any plan when Java 6 update 10 will be released by Sun? Until there is no official release we should raise the severity to blocker.

Wasn't this fixed by un-removing LiveConnect/OJI a month or so ago?
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1a2pre) Gecko/20080811123810 Minefield/3.1a2pre
Testing ..... Yes, the puzzle is working again.
But I guess the OJI support will be removed again?
This is a dup, I think. We turned OJI back on for some set of platforms, at least... but we certainly want to turn it off as soon as compatible Java plugins are released on all major platforms.

Engineering has basically ceased on the release, but I honestly don't know when it is going to ship. Presumably within the next month or so.
