Firefox Tracking Flags

(Not tracked)

So, uh, news.html is pretty out of date. I'd like to add news to it but want to back track a little... Here's the list of things I want to add. Can you think of more? I'll do this in one fell swoop, all will be given appropriate dates.

* Firefox 3
* Thunderbird, nay, Shredder 3 alpha 1
* Firefox
* Firefox 3.0.1 (tomorrow)

Before we update news.html I'd like to come up with a general policy for what news goes where on There's a bug open for this at

Ideally we'd be able to pull news in from other places as needed so we don't have to manually duplicate a bunch of news items.

I'd recommend archiving and either letting the URL point to the archived version of the page or redirect to the about:mozilla posts at

After thinking about it a bit more, I think we let the URL go to the archived version of the page and then update that page with a link to the about:mozilla posts. This way people can find the old news and have a reference to newer news.

We need to figure out what we're doing here before we push the new site, but it seems like we're just going to archive this, right?

I'm in favor of archiving it. Doesn't seem worth maintaining like it is set up now and anything we do going forward will likely be in blog format. It's probably worth holding off on the archiving though until we have the new site in place.

The news.html file was archived on the staging site and it will redirect people to the file on the archive site that contains links to more recent news. This covers the news.rdf feed as well.
