User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; es-ES; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070400 SUSE/3.0.1-1.1 Firefox/3.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; es-ES; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070400 SUSE/3.0.1-1.1 Firefox/3.0.1 I had setup a master password. When I open a page (ie email) where I have saved an username, it ask me for the master password, I choose cancel because I want to use another username. Once I click login, firefox ask again for the master password. If this second time it ask for the password is because it wants to save it, it shouldn't ask for it until I choose to do it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. setup a master password 2. open a page for where is a username saved 3. when firefox ask for the master password click cancel 4. enter another username & password and confirm Actual Results: Will ask again for the master password, which is incorrect. Expected Results: Should ask if I want to save the data, and only ask for the master pwd if I click yes.
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
The 2nd master password prompt is being triggered because the browser is checking to see if you already have the login stored for the site. If it didn't do this, it would end up asking you if you wanted to save the login everytime (and even if you clicked yes it would fail). Add an exception if you don't want your login saved for the site.
