Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; Embedded Web Browser from: http://bsalsa.com/; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)
Build Identifier: Mozilla5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv1.9.0.1) Gecko2008070208

got an update this morning and opened firefox.

it says that
"The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again."

then when you click ok
its installing again.
and its very annoying.
it will again
then installs it again for you
then failed

you need to end process firefox to get out of the cycle.

but theres no other firefox running.
just one instance.
i even end the process before i restart firefox

but still got that error.

i have restarted my pc but still get this msg.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. and update occured
2. open firefox
3. error shown
4. restart pc
5. open firefox
6. error still pops out
Actual Results:
The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again.
Can you please attach the last-update.log which is most likely in your Firefox installation directory (typically c:\program files\mozilla firefox\) in the updates directory

Product: Firefox → Toolkit
Sounds like a dupe of bug 340535 and without the logs there isn't anything to go on
