When I try to upload a firmware update (*.chk file) to my Netgear WGR614v9 wireless router using the built-in interface (file location path and an upload button) I get a dialog window "Invalid filename was provided, please enter again."
It works fine with IE.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Dialog window "Invalid filename was provided, please enter again."

Expected Results:
Start of firmware uploading process.

That does not mean that there is a bug in Firefox.
Does the router expect the filepath because Firefox doesn't provide it anymore (privacy/se4curity reasons). Firefox only provides the filename at the Foruminput.
Please check the source of the router-webinterface.

Unfortunately I have no clue what you're talking about. When I logged into the router user web-interface I wasn't able to upload the update file. When I did exactly the same using IE, it was working fine. That's why I reported that as a bug.
That it works in IE but not in Firefox3.x doesn't mean that it's a Firefox bug.
You get the path with IE but not anymore with Firefox3 (Firefox2 should work)
The router webinterface could fail because of this difference.
You have to check the html source/JS for the upload form yourself because we don't have such a router.

Load this testcase in IE and Firefox and see the difference:

I would send a note to the netgear support with this bug URL.
There is nothing to do here without a testcase.
