This problem seems specific to OSX since the GNU/Linux version does not have it.

1. create an event and save it
2. reopen it and modify its title, resave it

I checked this issue with lightning/sunbird 20080728 (windows/linux/solaris/Mac OS) and it is not possible to reproduce this bug -> WFM
