Form option pulldowns appear to put a couple characters of whitespace after the
longest option.  This is troublesome for layouts which are strictly constrained
around the length of the option pulldown.

NN 4.x and mozilla both put more space at the end of the longest option than at 
the beginning.  IE5 does not.  Does mozilla need to do it if IE5 doesn't?  Or is 
there a good reason for it?  One could argue it looks better.

options have a 5px right padding to make them size exactly like Nav 4.x in 
Quirks mode. This is very important. 

We could certainly reduce the right-hand padding for strict/standard mode by 
moving this to the quirks and standard style sheets appropriately. But should 
we? 

Because this is such a subjective thing, and extremely easy to fix once we 
figure out what we want to do, I am moving it to future.

IE5.5 - works because of reduced padding on right of options.
Nav 4.x - works because of stylesheets translating fonts too small (makes up 
for extra padding on right).
Mozilla - does not work because of extra padding combined with correct font 
translation.
