Overview Description: In the "Customize Sizebar Window", there are some pre- populated choices, some of which are confusing. The Favorites folder seems too similar to the notion of bookmarks and yet, there is also the option to choose Bookmarks from the pick list to add to the sidebar. Another confusing choice is From Others. It is not clear as to what from others? and who are the others? Also, International is a vague choice. Expected Results: These choices need to be given better, more intuitive names. For example, International should be named "Travel" or "Geography" depending on its intended function. From Others needs a better, more informative name, perhaps "Recommended Websites" or "Friends' Picks"; something to give some meaning to this option. Reproducibility: These names appeared in our solaris build dated 6/20. Build Date & Platform Bug Found: The chosen named is also found in Netscape6 PR1 on Windows. Additional Information: The above recommendation is made by our internal HCI group at Sun. A detail documentation on other UI issues can be provided upon request.
I completely agree that the current folder names are not entirely clear. I *think* that the entire list of available sidebar panels is provided by the folks over at Netscape.com/Netcenter. johng, can you confirm that or do you know who's responsible for what's in the list?
The folders are served by the server side, by Netcenter, and they plan to update the folder categories to make more sense, and this change should happen sometime in August. However, after these changes are made on the server side, the client will have to move the listing of it's client side tabs (bookmarks, search, what's related and buddy list) into a new folder. So re-assigning to hoangtv to he can tell us when the server side has been implemented. When this is done, hoang should reassign to slamm so he can move the client side tabs into the correct folder (which I think will be "Netscape Tools". keywords nsbeta3, netcenter reassigning to hoangtv
typo - assigning to hoangtv this time
spam : changing qa to sujay (New Sidebar QA)
(Shouldn't the bug summary read "Sidebar" instead of "Sizebar" !?)
No longer the owner. Reassign to Tom Ajayebi
> The folders are served by the server side, by Netcenter, Netscape is dead, there are no folders served from those servers any more.
