Sorry, I make one post for several wishes… but there are seven :)

I am using Thunderbird 3 alpha 1 as the default client on Linux.

I describes on this message some missing or non-intuitive (according to me) options I found.

I give a number to each to allow you to reference one particular point :)

1-
When creating an account, you can specify (it's the default) «Local Folders». Once the account is created, there is no place to change this option. Moreover, I have never understood the utility of «Local Folders», I think people just want one account by email.

2-
The junk settings are disturbing :
- a global settings is configurated in Preferences → Privacy → Junk
- junk specific account settings are in «account settings»
I think the actual junk global settings should be chosen by account.

3-
Security settings have 4 choices :
Never | TLS, if available | TLS | SSL
But what if «TLS, if available» is selected AND TLS is not available? not encryption? SSL?
This should be more explicit.

4-
Message from server appears as "Alert" (Dialog). Typicaly, on one of my imap email account : «93% of quota used» every time I launch thunderbird.
The message could be less intrusive (maybe on a bar somewhere, like in «evolution»).

5-
In Preferences → Composition → General → HTML, we can specify the font.
But I didn't find any place to specify the font for «quotes» when replying to a message.

6-
When creating a new account, we can choose «email account» or «gmail» (and other options), but what does it mean? Because gmail IS an email account?
Should be more explicit.

7-
Tools → Run Junk Mail Controls on Folder always select ALL emails as junk (don't understand).

Thank you very much for your work, I stay on thunderbird 3 alpha for testing, I like it :)

Reproducible: Always

One issue per post, please. It makes development work easy.

Local Folders is how Outbox and global inbox work, as well as drafts/sent for immutable accounts (i.e., news accounts).

TLS, if available refers to doing STARTTLS if the server advertises. I don't have a bug number on hand, but I know bienvenu was working on this.

Blame your server, we're just following RFC here (the server sends us an [ALERT] message, which we're required to display). See bug 247193

File a separate bug on this issue.

GMail is an ISP data account, which means data is prefilled for you.

Bug 383873 look familiar?
I suppose we can close this then, since it just covers a variety of requests covered in other bugs.
