User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070208 Firefox/3.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; fr; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070208 Firefox/3.0.1 Unicode (kanji, etc.) names of bookmarks are not displayed. The field always remains blank. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Bookmark any Japanese website as tenki.jp. The name of the website does never appear even if I edit it in properties.
Importing my Bookmarks from Safari runs afoul of this too. It won't import bookmarks/bookmark folders with Unicode characters in the names. Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070206 Firefox/3.0.1
can you post better steps to reproduce? i see a name saved for tenki.js, but i don't have a good font to represent japanese characters. Please try to reproduce with current 3.1 beta.
You can try any Japanese web site, the name properties of the web site, if using Japanese kanjis, will be blank. For instance: http://kakaku.com http://www.alc.co.jp/ I have tried with 3.1 beta 2 and it was blank as well.

Your attachment in comment 5 gives a perfectly result: you may indeed consider the issue solved in this release. Congratulations! FYI, in v3.0.5 (I uninstalled the 3.1.beta2), I have the name of the tab, the name and description of the property as blank as highlighted in red in the attachment.
Could be a font issue in your OS? hwv my screenshot is 3.1b3 on Vista.
I am still on XP. FYI, this issue is a regression compared to Firefox v2. Which fonts do you use from Firefox v3?
Can you still reproduce in Firefox 3.5.2?
Reporter, are you still seeing this issue with Firefox 3.6.13 or later in safe mode or a fresh profile? If not, please close. These links can help you in your testing. http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles
