Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070208 Firefox/3.0.1

When navigating bookmarks on each new session of Firefox 3.0.1 and hovering over a folder opens subordinate folder, moving directly to top bookmark closes bookmarks. This seems to happen when the bookmark appears left of the folder being looked in. If I move quickly, diagonally to 2nd or 3rd bookmark will make folder stay open and then I can 'sneak' up to top bookmark and jump to url okay, most of the time.

Happens in some folders and not in others, but generally it occurs in 3rd level or lower sub-directories.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Firefox
2.Open bookmarks
3.hover over folder and slide into left panel at top bookmark.
Summary: Moving cursor in bookmarks to top bookmark sometimes closes bookmark. → Moving cursor in bookmarks to top bookmark in a folder sometimes closes bookmark.
Are you talking about dragging links into sub folders or only about navigating to sub folders? The first problem could be Bug 419911.
I can drag bookmarks just fine, but navigating I find that when a sub-folder opens the available selection in a pane to the left of the parent folder and that sub-folder's first bookmark is at the same level as the parent folder (ie. that the size of the sub-folder allows it to open as an adjacent drop-down) if I go directly into the sub-folder's first (top) bookmark, that sub-folder closes. Actually, the whole bookmark folder structure doesn't close entirely, just the last sub-folder.

Doesn't happen in all sub-folders, but certain ones all the time until I successfully select and launch something from that sub-folder. I'll try to narrow it down.
Then maybe you mean Bug 422607?
The fix of this bug will go into Firefox 3.0.2.
Problem is already listed as Bug 422607
