User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.16) Gecko/20080702 Firefox/2.0.0.16 Build Identifier: 2.0.0.16 Since the last Thunderbird update, some keys do not register correctly when I am typing e-mails. I think the character map is messed up - this issue only happens in Thunderbird, not in Firefox, or in any other program. Specifics are when I hit the apostrophe key I get 'è' when I hit the quotation key I get 'È' ` gets me a / ~ gets me a \ [ gets me a ^ { gets me a ¨ ] gets me a ç } gets me a Ç < gets me a ' > gets me a " / gets me a é ? gets me a È \ gets me a à | gets me a À There might be others, but that is all I have noticed so far Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.happens in all profiles all the time since the last update - I can't make it stop! 2. 3. Expected Results: keystrokes should register as normal!! in most cases the spell checker will catch and fix things (normally with contractions) but I can no longer ask a question (?) or use quotations as the spell checker is not designed to catch these things.

Sounds like your keyboard setup got changed - i don't see how this would relate to thunderbird though. Have you checked the keyboard setting? Does reinstalling help? Extension problem?
