Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008072820 Firefox/3.0.1
A left-click on every download link leads to message box "/tmp/1Vj5Nv0B.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read."
New PC. Fresh Ubuntu 8.04 32 bits install. FF3 from Ubuntu repository.
Other web browsers have no problems (opera, epiphany). Same problem with FF2 (from .deb). Deleting "~/.mozilla" or changing user has no effect.
Checked with several pages (putty, mozilla, etc.). I used a default download destination then disabled it.
On the same computer, tried to install Windows XP SP2. FF3/XP has the same problem. There might be something strange in my local network or my ISP, but FF is the only one to feel disturbed.
Right-clicking then "Save link as..." doens't even show a message.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Click on any download link
2.
3.
Actual Results:
message box "/tmp/1Vj5Nv0B.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read."
Expected Results:
Download or show destination dialog
Don't know if it's relevant :
PC with AMD AM2, Nvidia geforce (embedded eth), Asus mainboard.
APIC crashes linux kernel, but XP is OK.
Local gateway (with DHCP) and DSL connection.

You have enough space/permissions to save the file?
Of course I had enough space and permissions. As I said in my report, Opera worked fine, saving in the same directories.
Anyway, 5 months after opening this ticket, it's now too late for this. I no longer have this PC.
