User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008071615 Fedora/3.0.1-1.fc9 Firefox/3.0.1 Build Identifier: Since Thunderbird can handle more than one account, it is not desirable that "Forward messages..." is the same for all accounts. It would make more sense to have per account. I therefore propose it is moved to Edit->Account Settings->"Composition & Addressing". See mock up. Reproducible: Always

Why would anyone want that per account? Suggestions are appreciated, but you don't think seem to realize the global pref vs per account aspects of moving things there. Sure, having prefs split it is a bit of a pain:/ But I don't know any easy way around that.
When I have to configure something in Thunderbird, I have no idea where to find it. There is only one way, clicking on all the tabs in both Preferences and Account Settings. That really gives a bad user experience, and I think that should be solved before TB3. I.e. moving all Account related settings out of the Preferences. Perhaps it would be a good idea to have a Global Account Settings entry? The entries in the Account Settings would then go something like this: Global Settings Server Settings Copies & Folders Composition & Addressing Offline & Disk Space Junk Settings Return Receipts Security Account 1 Server Settings Copies & Folders Composition & Addressing Offline & Disk Space Junk Settings Return Receipts Security Account 2 Server Settings Copies & Folders Composition & Addressing Offline & Disk Space Junk Settings Return Receipts Security and so forth...?
This has been proposed before motivated by moving reply settings (bug 141531).
