Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008072820
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008072820

Firefox does not save opened tabs, if browsing history is cleared automatically and Firefox is closed using "close" button on titlebar.

Strange, but when using menu "File -> Quit" tabs do not disappear.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
check "Privacy -> Private data -> Always clear my data when I close Firefox"

Now open some tabs and close Firefox hitting _close button_ on titlebar.

Select "save and quit" and "do not ask again", when dialog appears.

Then click "clear private data".

Open Firefox again.
Actual Results:
Firefox launches with an empty tab and so previously opened tabs are lost.

Expected Results:
Opened tabs should open again, when launching Firefox.

When selecting "File -> Quit" from menu, opened tabs do not get lost. The same behaviour on Windows Vista.

And it was all ok in Firefox 2.0.

Severity is critical, because is "[..]causes you [me] to lose data.".
By clearing the Private data may clear those tabs, so it would not be a bug then.

That's bug 443389 which we hopefully fix for Firefox 3.1.
