Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:188.8.131.52) Gecko/2008070206 Firefox/3.0.1 Do you mean when, for example, you click on the rug image on that page : http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/149643/Dagestan-rug#default If yes I cannot reproduce with the same configuration.
Yes, although I am now getting the rug appearing also. Maybe this has been fixed. It has also been reported to the webmasters at Encyclopedia Britannica who advised me to use Safari, which works. They also suggested I try Firefox 3 however this did not at the time fix the problem of the black screen not including the image. Since it is working today, it is a matter of conjecture as to how the problem was fixed in this case, or indeed whether all other comparable pages on this and similar websites will henceforth display when clicked from the icons.
Works for me, Firefox 3.0.3 on MacOSX 10.5.5 and Linux.
