This is a tracking bug.

Most mailnews people seem to agree that we want to come to a stage where you can have lots of different communication types in Thunderbird: Facebook, email, newsgroups, maybe even IM.

It is not well known what specific changes are needed to take us there, but as new bugs are filed that are related to this effort, please make them block this one.

http://www.tjhsst.edu/~jcranmer/listarchive.html has an example of my WIP for creating a new account type entirely in JS.

Also adding in as deps the bugs that I have filed to do this.

Adding in jminta's war on RDF since nsIMsgFolder cannot be specified from JS as nsIRDFResource uses a [noscript] method.

Moving off the beta 1 wanted list.  This is marked as wanted and can stay that way, however I'm going to remove the target milestone as I don't think this has an actual release targeted.  Also, bug 422814 might make any release targeting of this bug difficult until it gets landed.
