Firefox 3(beta) has been doing wonderfully, then 4-5 days ago it stopped loading.
I did nothing differently. Just stopped loading. Tried clean install -no change. Firefox 2.0 will load. This is not just a problem with my computer, My daughter's G4 IMAC is having the same problem.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1 Double click firefox icon That's it
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Firefox tries to load - then crashes and I get a crash report prompter.
Expected Results:
Software should open firefox browsers

Firefox3 final is out for a long time if you are really using the beta version.
Please run Firefox safemode :

Thanks matti - tried to run safe mode. Still firefox crashes- even before it can start safe mode. Any other suggestions?

I don't know if you used the wrong wording:
You start firefox in the firefox safemode.
>even before it can start safe mode
How can it crash before you start it ?

449604Matti- Love the name by the way) Thanks for all your help.
Probably am using the wrong terms. So- I double click firefox - hold down the option key- and.......the crash reporter thingy comes up.....! So frustrating... Am I doing something wrong? I Appreciate any help that you can give me.

be carfull that you don't change the bug resolution.
I asked you to start firefox in the firefox safemode.
Read the link in #1 how to run it in the safemode.

veneda, what are you doing?! this and 449604 aren't even bugs for the same product... this should be unmarked as a duplicate...

People! I am trying to learn and to do what you say for me to do... is there anybody out there that has some patience and is willing to walk me through - even if it means going slowly?

Sorry my mistake, i didn't know that you can start firefox with the option key on OS X.
You could try this version http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode , I don't know if that makes a difference.Try a new additional profile profile if the safemode doesn't help: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_manager
and if you still crash with Firefox3 final (not beta) and safemode/new profile then it's a little bit more difficult....

Sorry that I can not help you.
It should not crash and I don't know why you got this problem on your system.
Maybe a OS X user has another idea...

Veneda, can you try Firefox 3.5? Does it also crash on startup for you?
