I had asked in the forums how to print the URL at the bottom of the page and the question went unanswered for a month. I asked again today and received a response directing me to a very useful thread that answered by question. There needs to be a Knowledge Base article written to provide help for Mac Firefox users to tell them where to find the settings for headers/footers and how to use them. A simple search does not reveal this information.

No. This is a good explanation of what each setting does in Print Setup, but the problem for Mac users is where to find these settings. Except for the one thread in a forum that I was directed to read, there aren't any details provided that explain the different features in the Mac vs. Windows versions. This problem exists in the whole section pertaining to printing in Firefox. On Macs, there is no Print Preview command and Print Setup only changes the paper size, orientation and scale. The note acknowledges that "some . . . functions are different or unavailable on Mac OS and Linux," but it's lacking the important next step of explaining what those differences are and showing where the settings are. You can perform nearly all of the same print functions in the Mac version as the Windows version, but somewhere there needs to be clear information about how to perform them on a Mac. The information in "Using Firefox" is really skewed toward Windows at the expense of Mac users.

ahh yeah, that's very misleading then as the article appears to offer content customized for Mac.
Please feel free to edit the article yourself, as you've obviously just found the content you'd like added. Otherwise, hopefully another mac user will see the bug and volunteer.

My initial request was for a Knowledge Base article to help Mac users with headers/footers as that was what I was struggling with. But, having been directed to the "Using Firefox" information, I see there's a much broader need for Mac-specific information. How does someone edit an article as you suggest I do?

http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+contribute is our getting started page, you can also use the communication forms listed under "Give Feedback" to get help.
One of our knowledge base admins should see this soon and give you more specific tips.

Thanks for contributing William. Some specific info on editing articles can be found at <http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Editing+articles>.
Mark this bug as fixed when you've edited the article.
You can create Mac-specific text using special tags we've created. See <http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using+SHOWFOR>.

We have removed the printing content from the Using Firefox page (which is now called 'Browsing Basics'. There is a separate article for printing at <https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Printing+a+web+page> (bug 481483)
