Thanks to Sun's awesome remote firmware upgrade, one eventually needs to poweroff the machine and yank the power cord for 15 seconds. How you are supposed to perform that task remotely, I have no idea. Quoting from the Sun manual: Sun Fire X4150 Remote Firmware Update procedures [...] remove AC power for 10 seconds So, next time somebody visits the colo (phong today?), could you just yank the cord out, do what you came to the colo to do, then plug it back in. Thanks! I'll be on irc.mozilla.org as gozer until 16:30 EDT if there any questions. That server is currently powered down, waiting for the yank.

Just yank the power cord out for > 15 seconds and plug back in. If you can hook up a KVM to it when powering it back on, just to see if it boots back correctly, remembering the last time I rebooted a Sun 4150
