password ("stared" ******) type text boxes are malfunctioning in some unknown way.
I
don't know why but it is probably related to the to the thing that auto fills-in
text from forms you are revisiting.
The text in the password boxes that is auto-filled in is
NOT being starred-out but new text that is typed in is.
Attempting to delete the
non-starred text freezes Mozilla.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1: Go to http://arstechnica.infopop.net/OpenTopic/page?a=cfrm
2: Create a user profile for
the open forum by clicking on the "register" link in the upper right hand corner
(if you have a login then skip this step).
3: Login to the open forum. (if you are
already logged in skip this step)
4: Edit your user profile by clicking on the
"profile" link in the upper right hand corner
5: The text in the password boxes should
be plain text. put the editing cursor in one of the boxes and type like normal.
the new text is starred out like it should be.
6: Attempt to delete the starred out
text. It should work like normal. Attempt to delete the plain text password.
Mozilla will freeze.
Mozilla was not using the "Remember passwords" feature.
I beleieve that the
password was 'remembered' and filled in from a cookie.
