I use thunderbird for 2 addresses 1 imap and the other pop. I don't get the problem on the pop account only on the imap. The problem is i can recieve a new e-mail read it then go to a different window or close the message then the next time i go to my inbox the message has gone. I've checked all the preferences like delete message after so many days etc and set them all to do nopt delete but it still does it

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open new message
2.read message
3.close message window
4. Look at something else
5.message gone from inbox

What version of Thunderbird are you using?  The build identifier says 1.5, which isn't supported any more.  If you're not using 2.x, could you upgrade to that and see if the problem still exists?

If so, are there any settings set that might be hiding messages that have been read?
