Using july 10 commercial build NT 4.0 and linux rh6.0
Mark Thread as Read doesn't appear to work anymore, although I believe it did at
one time. Doesn't work in threaded or flat sort, doesn't work for mail or news.
1. Go to mail window, login to mail account.
2. Select a folder where there are new and/or unread messages which are replies
to other messages within the same folder.
3. Sort by thread.
4. Expand a thread which has new/unread message(s). Select the top/ultimate
parent message in the thread.
5. Message|Mark Thread as Read.
Result: Nothing happens. Unread messages in the thread are left unread. This
happens regardless of where the message selection is in the thread, whether a
parent or a reply.
Expected result: All messages in the thread/topic should be marked read.

it's definitely not doing the right thing for news. I'll look into it.

When I mark this fixed, please try this with imap in the following scenario
(which has not worked in 6.0 yet)
1. Mark a thread read in an imap folder.
2. shut down.
3. Start up again, open the imap folder, and see if the thread is still marked read.

This mac build has no problem.
I suppose it was not a Mac problem before. But...
Linux (2000-07-27-12 M17)
Win32 (2000-07-27-05 M17)
I did as instructed by David. The problem is still there.

the fix is not in m17, since this was not an nsbeta2+ bug. It is in m18.
