Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 Hello, I'd like to add more detail to this issue as it is easily reproduced (my instructions are for a MAC but it may also happen on other platforms). 1) go to google.com for this example. 2) copy something to your clipboard (can be from anywhere) 3) left click on the search input field 4) the input field should light up with a border 5) now left click and hold that border while pressing command+v 6) One of two things happen: - The pasted text is injected beside the text box - Or, the text box disappears If you do step 5 repeatedly while clicking and pasting randomly and very fast on the border you will have varying effects. I haven't extensively tested this, but it only appears to happen on input=text and textarea types and only when the field does not have a CSS defined border. It may also happen on input=password or input=file types as well. Hopefully this is helpful.

Hello, this bug seems to be easy to reproduce (it happens always) and happens on Macintosh and Windows (only tested on Vista x64) with Firefox 3.5.3 All you have to do for reproduce is (you dont have to hurry between the steps): 1) copy some text to clipboard 2) go to google.com 3) set the focus on the search field by click on it 4) now press the command key (or on windows it is ctrl) and hold it 5) move the mouse pointer over the left border of the search field and click 6) now press shortly 'v' additionally to the still pressed command key (for paste). after pasting you could release the command key, too. 7) the bug occurs - If the text field (google search field) was empty, the pasted text is injected beside the text box. - If there was text in this textbox, it will disappear completely. It seems to occur only if the textfield is inside of a html-table (td-tag) or similar. If you let the textbox disappear, the whole content of the table-cell will disappear - so the search buttons on google. This should make it a bit clearlier - greetings
In Win XP SP3, Win Vista, Win 7 and Mac OS X (10.5.8) all of this with FF3 3.5.5 this error persists.

This is also happening in Firefox 3.7a1pre under Windows 7 Professional x64. It doesn't happen ALL of the time but when I paste text into a text field, the text field collapses/disappears/whatever. Very annoying, but unfortunately, I am not able to pinpoint the exact cause. I will start logging where this is happening to me, where I'm copying text into the clipboard from and where I'm pasting it to. My first incident today was copying $64.87 from a STEAM window to a text field in Firefox @ www.epassporte.com (online banking site). When I pasted the small bit of information, the entire text field disappeared along with all of the information in it that I had already typed. When I hit F5, the text field came back until I pasted the text again and it disappeared. So I just went back 1 page, restarted the process to get to the text field and the 3rd time I was able to paste the date successfully. Extensions Installed: AdBlock Plus 1.1.3+.2010011902 Adblock Plus Element Hiding Helper 1.0.6+.2010010702 Better Privacy 1.45 ColorZilla 2.0.2 Download Statusbar 0.9.6.5 DownTHemAll! 1.1.6 Gmail Manager 0.5.7.5 Greasefire 1.0.4 Greasemonkey 0.8.20091209.4 Hide Menubar 1.0.20090705 Imgur Uploader 0.2 Jetpack 0.7 Live Pagerank 0.9.7 Nightly Tester Tools 2.0.3 NoScript 1.9.9.36 Open Image In New Tab 1.1 Pilfer 1.2 StumbleUpon 3.61 Tabberwocky 1.1 WeatherBug 2.0.0.4 Weave Sync 1.0rc2 Weave Sync for Adblock Plus 0.3alpha+.2009121602 The only thing I have in common with Comment #2 is Colorzilla, but all that addon does is sample colors from under the mouse cursor when it's activated. This bug happens so hit and miss that it would be almost impossible to figure out if it's an extension causing it and I couldn't go a week in a clean profile with no extensions to see if it still happens. ;)

I was never able to reproduce using any of the STR from this bug. Closing this as incomplete due to inactivity and the lack of a reproducible test case. Feel free to reopen the bug if there's an updated testcase that still reproduces the issue.
