My Firefox has been hijacked by ask.com and now every time I open Firefox it goes to ask.com instead of my default.
I have tried everything even unistalling but the problem reifest itself when I reinstall Firefox.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mick - could you answer some questions...

Open the extensions manager and tell us:
* what add-ons do you have installed?
* what plug-ins do you have installed?

You may also consider resetting your homepage to see if that does the trick.

You need to check add/remove programs for anything from ask.com once that's removed resetting the homepage should work. Sounds like you have the ask.com toolbar installed (or used to).

Please try to uninstall the ask.com toolbar -- if that doesn't work, please reopen this bug.  Hope that helps! :)

Thanks all but you are just going over ols ground, I have tried everything I Know.
I Have reset my homepage a million times and appart from Google, I have zero add ons installed. I even removed all plug-ins.
IT IS NOT in add/remove programs and there is no sign of ask.com or jeeves or anything else that resembles it anywhere on the computer - Not even in the Registry????????????

Today I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it but every time I opened it, it reverted back to ask.com when I opened Firefox.

I'm at a loss?????????

PLEASE HELP! Strangely I have emailed Microsoft, Mozilla/Firefox, Google (Being my preferd home page) and Ask to complain and enquire how this is abke to happen and not one of them has made a single reply, very strange indeed????

This is a mass search for Firefox General bugs filed against version 3.0 that are UNCO and have not been changed for 200 days.

Reporter, please update to Firefox 3.6.10 or alter. Firefox 3.0 is no longer supported and is no longer receiving updates. After you update, please create a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/kb/managing+profiles, and test to see if your bug still exists. If you still the bug, then please post a comment with the version you tested against, and the problem. If the issue is no longer there, please set the RESOLUTION to  RESOLVED, WORKSFORME.

No reply from reporter, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
