User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0 When typing an URL with Japanese in it in the location bar, Firefox promptly crashes. When I go to the same page from for example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Sign_Language and then click for the Japanese version, it works OK. So the problem is probably in the location bar. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Firefox 2.In the location bar, enter http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/日本手話 Actual Results: Crash. Expected Results: Show the page as viewed when going to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Sign_Language and then click for the Japanese version
Wouter: does Breakpad (the Mozilla Crash Reporter) come up, and have you submitted a(n) incident ID(s)? If so, can you please type about:crashes into the location bar, press Enter, and give us the link to one of these crashes? Thanks!
Unfortunately, it pops up with a Windows crash report dialog, which would send the crash to Microsoft. I tried copying the crash information from the window, but it won't let me select the text for copying. Does it not happen at your side when you use Japanese (or any other UTF8 characters probably?) in the URL bar? I can try reproducing it on my home computer after work.
I just tried it on my home computer with Firefox 3.0.1 and it works fine here. I will try getting a stacktrace from my work computer when I'm there again, thanks timeless.
