Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

3.mot de passe
4.erreur 500

sous mozilla v3 il y a erreur 500 alors que sous ie7 ca marche !!?
not a security bug.

The 500 error is a server side application error. If it works in Firefox 2 and IE7 then I assume there is a problem with the server side user agent detection, but that is just a guess. Over to general for more investigation.

Tristan, perhaps you can help with the communication?

Here is a translation of the initial bug report:

I get an "Error 500" message when accessing the private part of assedic.fr Website. (Note from Tristan: Assedic is the Gov't Agency that gives benefits to unemployed people in France. It's very important for its users who need to use it once a month to update their employment status).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.visit assedic.fr
2.log in
3. type password
4. see "Error 500"

With Mozilla v3 (Firefox?) I get an "Error 500" message, while things run nicely with IE7.
Old known bug. Could be listed as a tech evangelism bug.

Answer from Assedic:

"Madame, Mademoiselle, Monsieur,

in short: we are not compatible with Firefox 3, use Firefox 2

This is a reccurring issue that was already reported to them before Firefox 3 was released, their answer at that time was that the site did not work because Firefox 3 was still in beta and we should use either Firefox 2 or Internet Explorer.
Do we know *why* the site is broken in Fx 3 and not in Fx 2? Presumably the 500 error is not the result of browser-sniffing purposely creating a server error...

cl
And presumably whatever causes the site to be broken in Firefox 3 also affects any other browsers built from Gecko 1.9. Can someone confirm that guess?
Summary: error 500 on assedic.fr french site → assedic.fr - generates HTTP 500 errors when accessed with Firefox 3 (fine with Firefox 2)
Epiphany 2.22.x under Ubuntu Hardy (using gecko 1.9.0.1) is blocked too.
INCOMPLETE due to lack of activity since the end of 2009.
