Firefox crashes immedtaley upon startup, whenever the program is called upon or its icon is clicked. It immediately goes to the crash reporting menu, but will not start or restart. Running Windows XP on a Sempron 2800 with 2GB of RAM, with a 250GB system hard drive. Downloading the latest build does not fix the problem. Bookmark files are intact and transferable.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click Firefox icon
2. Fill out crash report
3. Click on Restart Firefox
Actual Results:
Firefox reports a crash and asks to send report of crash.
Expected Results:
Firefox should have opened on my current home page.

I can agree to this. I have had most of my work machines downgrade to 2.0.0.X to prevent this from happening.
Crashing started upon upgrading to the 3.0.X versions.
All machines running Linux or MAC seem ok but the windows machines seem to be failing.
This could be an issue with other software installed on the machines but I have not been able to dig into it that much.

I had to use winDbg to get this to work since firefox crashes on startup and can not get to about:crashes

I would like to add a side note.
I was now able to get two machines running after starting them like so:
1: firefox.exe -preferences
2: exiting out of preferences
3: starting firefox normally
4: all is good. firefox starts and seems to be working fine

I have tried this on a few other machines and had no change. firefox would still crash on startup.

This does not seem to be the main issue but it may be related.
Also when running about:crashes on the machines (that were crashing on startup) they are not displaying any information. Crash log is empty.

I dob't know quite what happened, but Firefox works now. Sorry I can't be much help.
